Helpful Info for Can & Dumpster Service

Please be sure to read our helpful tips to ensure safe, efficient, and successful pick-ups.


Service Info

  • If payment was received after the due date, a 1.5% late charge is assessed to the account monthly until paid

  • If expected to be received after the due date, add 1.5% to the total owing

  • Your invoice is always due the 25th prior to the service period, i.e. February bill is due 1/25

  • Call the office if a payment arrangement or changing your bill cycle will help to make timely payments

  • If you didn’t get your can out in time, there is a $25 charge to reroute a truck, if it is feasible to do so

  • If you have service or pick-up issues, please contact us ASAP so we can get it resolved

Pick-up Tips

  • Have your can out the night before your scheduled day of service

  • Place the Lakeshore can curbside with lids facing the street

  • Maintain a clear path to your trash containers or containers or can corral, free from obstruction

  • Bag your trash before placing it into your can (minimizes odor, animals, bugs, and spillage)

  • Call the office before your pick-up day if you will have additional bags and/or items outside of the can


Items Outside the Can & Bulk Items

  • Call Customer Support or click use the Contact Form to schedule a special pickup additional trash or bulk items, e.g. appliances, furniture, mattresses, carpet, etc.


Items not allowed in your trash container

  • Appliances

  • Asbestos

  • Batteries larger than D-cell

  • Cement

  • Chemicals & fuels

  • Household hazardous waste

  • Construction materials/debris

  • Compact fluorescent bulbs

  • Electronics

  • Furniture

  • Ashes/sand

  • Yard waste

  • Paint*

  • Pesticides

  • Tires

  • Items sticking out of can

*Ashes/sand: Very small amount is permitted as long as the driver can easily lift the can. If you need to dispose, split the load in another can or in next week’s pick up. If you dispose of it in another bag outside of the can, call the office so a drivers note can be made

*Paint cans must be completely dry and left outside by the can with the lid off (kitty litter or sand in the can left in the sun dries liquid paint. Click HERE for another great idea.
